John Ali is the WCF Cocoa & Forests Initiative Finance Consultant responsible for the financial management of the project. He brings over 20 years’ experience in financial and grant management, auditing/cost controlling & estimation, strategic planning & implementation, budget & contract management, financial planning & analysis, project management & proposal development, payroll administration & due diligence, team building & leadership, working mostly with international NGOs and consultancy firms.
Before joining WCF, John worked with VSO International as the Head of Finance and Operations leading proposal development team and succeeded in securing a GBP6.26m grant from Comic Relief for a Girl Child Education Project in Ghana’s northern regions among others. He also implemented CDN$22m CIDA (GAC) water projects with two Canadian Consulting Firms. He has a proven track record of developing customized financial strategies and solutions to meet the needs of clients.
John has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, an MBA in Finance from Sikkim Manipal University in India, and an MSc in Professional Accountancy from University of London, UK.
He is also a Chartered Accountant with Membership of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG).
