Heidi Hautala

Vice President, European Parliament

Heidi Hautala is a Vice-President of the European Parliament and a former Minister for International Development and State Ownership Steering of Finland. Currently she is a member of the International Trade committee. She has focused on fair trade, human rights, transparency and responsible business. She has established a cross-party working group on Responsible Business Conduct at the European Parliament, which she chairs. Ms. Hautala is also a member of the Subcommittee on Human Rights and a substitute member of the Legal Affairs committee. In addition to the ongoing parliamentary term, she was an MEP from 1995-2003 and 2009-2011. She was previously a Member of the Finnish Parliament and a presidential candidate for the Finnish Green Party in 2000 and 2006.
