Faruk Kwansah Nyame

Faruk is a member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) with an Executive Masters in Business Administration – (Project Management Option) from the University of Ghana Business school, Ghana, a diploma in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (GIS operation) – University of Twente (ITC) – Netherlands, Ghana School of Surveying and Mapping – Ghana and a B.Sc (Hons) Geodetic Engineering – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi, Ghana. He works with the Ghana Cocoa Board as the Deputy Director / Coordinator (Productivity Enhancement Programmes) in charge of cocoa rehabilitation programme, irrigation projects, mass pruning exercise, hand pollination programme

He worked as a Lecturer at ITC/ Ghana School of Survey and Mapping, GIS consultant at Ghana Centre for Democratic Development, CDD-Ghana, and GIS specialist at the Centre for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Services (CERSGIS), University of Ghana, Legon-Ghana.

His achievements include Assessing as panel member, applications for the Ag. Tech Development Challenge – Introduction to SAT4Farming organized by Rainforest Alliance, Netherlands, developing effective practices for enhancing the implementation of cocoa production interventions to Ghanaian farmers, developing a geospatial information component of water services valuation of watersheds in Payments for Environmental Services (PES) in Ghana (Case Study: Densu Basin), and GIS/Remote sensing specialist for African plantation for sustainable development project.

He served as a Geo-Database Administrator for World Bank/ Trust Fund for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development (TFESSD) Funded Project: Water Services GIS-Database Development of Ghana for Economic Evaluation of Ecosystem Services.
