Beate Weiskopf
Executive Secretary, German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO)Since February 2014 Beate Weiskopf helds the position of the Executive Secretary of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO), which is located at the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Germany.
Beate Weiskopf studied Agricultural Science. She has been working for GISCO in the field of rural development since 1990.
Beate Weiskopf has many years of expertise in the cocoa sector. For GISCO, she was responsible for strengthening the cocoa value chain in Ecuador (2002 – 2008), later on in Nicaragua (2008 – 2013). Cooperation with the private sector was an important part of these activities in both countries. Mrs. Weiskopf also has local experience in Africa.
Further professional stations of Mrs. Weiskopf were at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
