ECA statement on traceability through polygon mapping
We are delighted to see the European Cocoa Association (ECA) fully supports “the comprehensive application of digital GPS (Global Positioning System) polygon mapping for all cocoa farms.” When implemented, this will represent a big step forward in being able to trace where cocoa is grown, making it easier to address human and environmental abuses. We hope that European Union draft legislation on eliminating deforestation from commodity supply chains respects the wishes of the ECA and strengthens the current amendments to reflect this position.
