200 days before UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, the May 20 – 21 Business & Climate Summit provides a unique forum for business and government leaders to demonstrate bold action, adopt forward-looking strategies and call for ambitious policies that will allow us to scale up solutions.
The Business & Climate Summit in Paris will build upon the momentum created in New York City last September.
The summit will bring together global business leaders, political leaders and senior climate negotiators to discuss the best ways to deploy low-carbon solutions at scale and at pace.
At the conclusion of the two-day summit, a series of recommendations will be presented to policymakers to help galvanise more action and catalyse ambition leading up to COP21.
200 days before COP 21, this two-day meeting will address critical questions:
- How can business work with government to grow the economy and pursue development while limiting global temperature rise to 2° Celsius?
- How will effective carbon pricing unleash innovation, create new markets, products and services, generate employment, reduce energy consumption and increase savings?
- How will a global, long-term goal in the Paris agreement mobilise capital and accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy?
This Summit, cornerstone event of the Climate Week Paris (May, 18th-22nd), will focus on how to work together towards a low-carbon, prosperous and safer future for all.
