ANNOUNCEMENTS:
From the American Phytopathological Society. The APS Foundation JANE (John and Ann Niederhauser Endowment) Award was created to facilitate international cooperation related to research and management of plant diseases, with particular emphasis on those caused by Phytophthora. The winning project for the 2009 JANE Award is “Investigating the population biology of Phytophthora megacarya in Western Africa,” submitted by Kelly Ivors, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Zok Simon and Jean Kurate, Institut de le Recherche Agricole pour le Developpement (IRAD), Yaoundé, Cameroon. The year’s award provides $5,000 in research support.
