Reporting

Public reporting on the gathered data via certification of cocoa farms is important. The reports provide information on the well-being of children, families and communities in the cocoa farming sector; cocoa farming labor practices, and on progress in ensuring that cocoa is grown responsibly. 

Providing this information enables any interested party to learn about the current state of labor conditions on cocoa farms, and what’s being done to address any issues.  Over time, the reports will also track progress – documenting if efforts are, in fact, making a difference.

On an annual basis, participating West African governments make publicly available a certification “report.” The report includes findings from the data collection visits to cocoa farms and farming communities and recommended remedial actions.   The reports are posted online.

The first certification reports were released by the governments of the Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Ghana in 2007.  To read those reports, click on the following:
